Sports Poems

Year 4 have been writing poems relating to out theme: Team Sports.  We looked at various different poems and then we wrote out own.  Here are a few that we wrote about Brazil, where the World Cup will be help this year and about football.

In Brazil

In Brazil I can see-

The sun shining as bright as the hot sand on the beach.

The fish flushing down on top of the ocean.

The sand being walked on enthusiastically by the sea water.

In Brazil

High in the sky a sun crawling like a spider.

In the water below, fish are swimming in the salty sea.

Palm trees swaying to the breeze lethargically.

Voices speaking everywhere that a tornado

Mixed it all up.

Here comes England

Here comes England

In their eyes is determination to win as their tops came on the field

Ready to win

Ready for victory

Excited but worried

Wondering what’s going to happen

The crowd was going crazy

Here comes Germany

Determined to win

Butterflies

A dream gone wrong

A lifetime of disappointments

Here Comes England

Here comes England determination in their eyes

With their invisible book of skills

The little they need it

A belly of butterflies flying

O thought of winning

A day dream away

Here Comes England

Look here comes England

with their champion’s feet like.

Soldiers marching along with their perfect skills

practice makes perfect.
